Meet some of our horses!

So we thought that we would introduce you to some of the horses here at Wildfire Stables and tell you a little bit about what they do.

We have owned most of our horses for over 5 years and they are a part of our family. We choose horses with great minds, amazing personality's and great pedigrees. A few of the horses you may have ridden are either retired from showing or still show!

Here we go! First up:

Alena (1988 Reg. Arabian mare)

It all started with a newspaper article that came out about our youth horsemanship camps. We had the front page our our local news paper and an amazing article about our horses and what we teach. We then received a phone call from Alena's owner asking if we would be interested in adding her to program for children. So we went and looked. She was really sweet and cute so we brought her home.

Well it wasn't love at first site, Alena was very spoiled and was quite a handful. She liked to try and pull back and break her lead rope and didn't want to get caught in the pasture.

Things started to change the more she got used to our system and being around children. Eventually she became a back up horse for the Mokelumne Mounties Jr. Equestrian Drill Team, she competed at the LA Equestrian Center, performed at the Reno Rodeo, Turlock Rodeo and Clements Stampede Rodeo. The whole time with an 8 year old girl riding her.

Alena has since become an amazing part of our horse family and is one of the sweetest horses. She absolutely adores children, and is extremly trust worthy!

Check back next week for more on another horse!
